Instructional writing on bikes

 LEARNING ABOUT BIKES

Kia ora e te whānau, today I will be telling you about what Te Puna Wairua learned about bikes safety-wise and also fun-wise!

I tēra wiki on Rāhina Te Puna Wairua and Talamuka a Tonga headed ourselves to the Boardroom for a safety lesson about bikes, the first safety lesson we learned about the ABCDDQ which is...

A:ir, our bike wheels must have enough air in the tire to be able to ride the bike.

B:reakes, before riding your bike you must check if your breaks are working because if you're going down a hill too fast you can push the breaks but, if they don't work there could be some SERIOUS injuries coming towards you.

C:hains, just in case check if your chain is loose or rusty because if you're riding your bike and the chains come off you won't be able to control your bike anymore.

D:irection, check your bike directions just in case it doesn't go the opposite way.

D:rop, drop your bike and see if it breaks or not, if it does that means it was not safe to ride, but if it doesn't break then your good to go!

Q:uick release, is when you wanna take your wheels off, then you can flip the quick release.

Next, we went to the bike shed and got split into two groups and learned our indications with our arms and to stop.

1. Lift your right arm up, which indicates you going right.

2. Lift your left arm up, which indicates you going left.

3 raise your right arm halfway like your waving at someone just don't wave but that signs STOP!

After practice, we went to the main road at Dunkirk and had instructions for what to do.

1. Look back and tilt your bike towards you and go on your bike.

2. Get into peddle position and indicate your arm that you're going out depending on the side of the road your on.

3. look behind again and GO!

4. If your gonna take the road, TAKE THE ROAD, and always remember to indicate and stop.

What I loved was how much I did not know that I now do I will always remember to take the road and indicate!
